Initially established as a private entity, it transitioned to a public limited company in 2007. The company is part of a larger group with diverse interests, including rigid plastic and paper packaging products, as well as logistics services. Mega Flex Plastics operates from a leased 2.095-acre site in Howrah Poly Park, West Bengal, setting up its manufacturing facility in 2007 with an initial capacity of 22.61 million bags annually.
Over the years, the company expanded its production capabilities, reaching a capacity of 51.30 million bags per year by 2020. It also exports Leno Bags to European markets and caters to domestic demand by promoting these cost-effective and efficient packaging solutions over traditional jute bags. This strategic shift significantly benefited Indian farmers by reducing storage and transportation losses.
