Medi-caps, established in 1983 by S L Mittal, was initially a leading manufacturer of empty hard gelatine capsules, serving major pharmaceutical clients like Dr. Reddy's Laboratories and Lupin Laboratories. The company was the second-largest manufacturer in India, achieving zero defect production and expanding its manufacturing capabilities significantly over the years. Medi-caps also ventured into international markets, exporting to countries such as China and South Africa.
However, in November 2019, Medi-caps ceased its manufacturing operations in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, and transitioned to the real estate sector. This strategic shift led to the development of the Medicaps Business Park in collaboration with Tirupati Realty & Developers. With a history of innovation and expansion in capsule manufacturing, Medi-caps now explores opportunities in real estate, marking a significant transformation in its business model.
