About Mcleod Russel India Ltd McLeod Russel India Limited (MRIL), part of the B M Khaitan group, is the world's largest tea plantation company, producing over 70 million kilos annually from its 53 estates in Assam and West Bengal. Originally incorporated as Eveready Company India Private Limited in 1998, MRIL has evolved through strategic acquisitions, including Borelli Tea Holdings and various renowned tea companies, reinforcing its dominance. As a leading Indian tea exporter, it maintains strong connections in the UK and Europe, marketing its products under the Elephant trademark. The company is certified by several international quality and ethical standards, such as FLO and ETP. MRIL has also ventured into biofuel production through the cultivation of Jatropha in North East India.
