About Mangalam Cement Ltd Mangalam Cement Limited (MCL), a unit of the B.K. Birla Group, was established in 1976 and is involved in the production of various cement grades, including 43 and 53 grades, and Portland Pozzolana Cement (PPC) under the brands Mangalam and Birla Uttam. The company operates manufacturing plants in Morak, Rajasthan, and Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. MCL has experienced significant growth and development, including the commissioning of new production units and power plants, enhancing its production capacity over the years.
After facing financial challenges, MCL was declared a sick industrial company in 2002 but successfully implemented a revival scheme. The company has since expanded its operations, including the installation of wind mills and thermal power plants, and increasing its cement production capacity to 4.00 MTPA. In 2021, MCL further enhanced its clinker and cement capacities and underwent a Scheme of Amalgamation with Mangalam Timber Products Limited, consolidating its assets and liabilities.
