M. P. Agro Industries Ltd., established in December 1975, is a prominent player in the chemical fertilizers industry. Originally promoted by the M P State Agro Industries Development Corporation and Dharamsi Morarji Chemicals, it began its operations in July 1976. The company is involved in the manufacturing, storing, and distributing of chemical fertilizers, heavy chemicals, and their by-products. In 1991, it was acquired by Liberty Fertilisers of the Dhamani group, which also owns Sayaji Hotels. The company issued additional equity shares in 1993 and 1999 to finance machinery and working capital needs.
Despite its expansion efforts, M. P. Agro Industries Ltd. faced financial challenges, leading to a reference to the Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction in 2001. In 2008, the company generated funds through the sale of industrial land, receiving Rs. 8 Crore from Lapp India Pvt. Ltd., helping to stabilize its financial standing.
