La Opala RG Limited, established in 1987, is a prominent Kolkata-based manufacturer and marketer of lifestyle glassware products. The company operates three manufacturing units in Sitarganj and Madhupur with a combined production capacity of 36,000 MTPA. La Opala went public in 1995, utilizing funds to collaborate with Doosan Glass, South Korea, for exclusive rights to produce and sell crystalware. The company expanded into glass tableware, launching 24% lead crystalware and opening its first exclusive showroom in Kolkata in 1999-2000.
La Opala has continuously innovated its product offerings, launching the Celebration range in 2003-04 and the Cosmo Collection in 2018, which targeted the HORECA segment. In 2022, the Quadra Collection and Solitaire crystal glassware were introduced, alongside the commencement of a greenfield plant in Sitarganj. The Sitarganj facility expanded in 2022-23 to produce Opal Glassware, highlighting the company's ongoing commitment to growth and product diversification.
