Krishna Filament Industries Ltd, formerly Mavi Industries Limited, is a Surat-based textile company with over 30 years of experience. The company specializes in manufacturing warp knitted, tricot, and woven fabrics utilizing advanced German technology, specifically Karl Mayer tricot machines. Established in 1988 by the Agarwal family, it also produces synthetic ropes, twines, and nets using polypropylene and high-density polyethylene.
In 1994, Krishna Filament raised funds through a public equity issue to establish a 100% Export Oriented Unit (EOU) for 8-strand rope production in Nashik, in collaboration with Daewoo Corporation, South Korea. Further expansion in 1997 included increasing production capacities for ropes and introducing specialty nets. By 1998-99, the company enhanced its synthetic ropes capacity to 21,000 MT and capitalized on market opportunities following the closure of Korean competitors. This expansion reflects Krishna Filament's strategic growth and adaptation in the competitive textile market.
