Kesar Enterprises Ltd. (KEL), part of the Kilachand Devchand group, was established in 1933 and operates primarily in the sugar and alcohol industries. Located in Baheri, Uttar Pradesh, the company produces sugar, industrial alcohol, country liquor, and ethanol, alongside generating power from bagasse. Under the leadership of Chairman Harsh R Kilachand, KEL has undergone significant expansions, including a rights issue in 1992 to fund distillery modernization, thereby increasing its alcohol production capacity to 16,365 KL/year.
KEL has diversified its operations over the years, including a partnership with Mahindra Realty for real estate development in Mumbai and a demerger that formed Kesar Terminals & Infrastructure Ltd. (KTIL) in 2010. The company commissioned a 44 MW bagasse-based power plant in 2012 and integrated its Agrotech Division into its Seed Division in 2013. KEL's strategic expansions and restructuring efforts highlight its focus on enhancing production capabilities and operational efficiency.
