Karamtara Engineering Limited (formerly Karamtara Engineering Private Limited, incorporated May 8, 1996) converted into a public company on December 16, 2024. It is a backward-integrated manufacturer serving the renewable energy and power transmission line sectors, producing hardware fittings and accessories used across these applications.
Its product portfolio includes solar module mounting structures (Solar MMS), solar tracker piles and piers, solar torque tubes, lattice towers for transmission lines, and fasteners for solar, wind, transmission, and industrial uses, along with overhead transmission line (OHTL) hardware fittings and accessories. The company supplies lattice structures for transmission lines and components used in overhead transmission infrastructure.
Operationally, it began with transmission tower production at its Tarapur (Maharashtra) unit in 1998, expanded into solar piles and TLT at Tarapur in 2004 via Karamtara Fasteners Private Limited (later merged), and added telecom tower production in 2006. It established a profiles unit in 2008 (via merger), started manufacturing 765kV transmission towers in 2010, and acquired a structural steel profiles rolling mill in Nagpur in 2011. International expansion includes subsidiaries Karamtara Italy SRL (2012), Karamtara USA Inc. (2017), and Karamtara Renewables Saudi Limited (2024).
The company is planning an IPO to raise up to Rs 1,750 crore, comprising a fresh issue of Rs 1,350 crore and an offer for sale of Rs 400 crore.
