Kanoria Chemicals and Industries Ltd (KCIL), established in 1960, is a prominent Indian chemical manufacturer focusing on Aloc and Chloro Chemicals. Operating primarily from its Renukoot facility in UP, KCIL produces industrial chemicals such as caustic soda, chlorine, and aluminium chloride in collaboration with international firms. The company has implemented backward integration strategies, including a 25 MW coal-based captive power plant, to optimize production costs. Additionally, KCIL's Ankleshwar plant in Gujarat pioneered the use of membrane technology for pentaerythritol production and holds an ISO 9002 certification.
In recent strategic developments, KCIL has expanded its reach by divesting its Chloro Chemicals business and enhancing its Hexamine and Formaldehyde production capacities. The company has diversified into solar energy and international markets with investments in APAG Holding AG, and textile manufacturing in Ethiopia. KCIL has recently commissioned a Phenolic Resin Plant at Ankleshwar, becoming the sole Indian manufacturer with facilities on both coasts, and plans to expand its Formaldehyde production.
