Kanohar Electricals Limited (incorporated in 1972; converted to a public limited company in 1994) manufactures transformers for generation, transmission and distribution of electric power, offering products up to 500 MVA and 500 kV. The company positions itself as a manufacturer of reliable, cost-effective and high-quality transformers. It operates two manufacturing facilities at Rithani, Meerut and Gangol, Meerut (Uttar Pradesh), with an aggregate transformer manufacturing capacity of 19,200 MVA as of September 30, 2025. In addition to manufacturing, its EPC business covers turnkey installation of air and gas insulated substations and bay augmentation in existing substations up to 400 kV class, as well as turnkey installation of transmission lines across 132 kV, 220 kV and 400 kV. Kanohar’s customers include PSUs, state utilities and private-sector companies. It has executed large and complex transformer orders for central and state transmission utilities in India, including transformers up to 500 MVA 400 kV. In June 2025, it received its single largest order of Rs 568.67 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) for supply of 500 MVA 400 kV power transformers. It has also supplied traction transformers and Scott transformers to Indian Railways, and distribution transformers (up to 5.5 MVA, 33 kV) to Bhutan Power Corporation Limited. To expand its addressable market, the company entered into a collaboration with Chung-Hsin Electric and Machinery Manufacturing Corporation (CHEM), Taiwan, and supplied up to 252 kV GIS bays from its Gangol facility to transmission utilities in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. It entered substation EPC and later expanded into transmission lines up to 400 kV class, while increasing transformer capacity to 19,200 MVA per annum in FY25. The company has filed a DRHP with SEBI and plans an IPO comprising a Rs 300 crore fresh issue and an offer for sale of 14,590,000 equity shares (face value Rs 2 each).
