Kanchi Karpooram Ltd. (KKL), incorporated in 1992, specializes in the production of camphor and its derivatives, gum rosin, value-added resins, and fortified rosin. Located in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, KKL's manufacturing plant also produces turpentine oil and gum rosin. The company began commercial operations in December 1994 and developed a technology for producing value-added resins by January 1995. KKL's products serve a wide range of industries, including tyres, food, pharma, rubber, paints, paper, and adhesives, and are distributed to international traders.
The company undertook a public issue to finance a forward integration project, enhancing its capacity to produce camphor, dipentene, and sodium acetate from turpentine oil. Demonstrating growth, KKL's turnover exceeded Rs 1.1 billion in FY 2017-18. In 2022, KKL expanded its operations by incorporating a subsidiary, Kanchi Agro Product Private Limited, aiming to diversify and strengthen its market presence.
