About Kalyani Steels Ltd Kalyani Steels Limited (KSL), part of the $2.1 billion Kalyani Group, is a leading manufacturer of iron and steel products, established in 1973. It operates an integrated manufacturing facility in Hospet, Karnataka, and mines in the Bellary region. The company is self-reliant in special steel manufacturing, bolstered by its captive coke plant in Dharwad. KSL expanded its capabilities with a joint venture with Carpenter Technology Corporation in 1997 to produce specialty steels and later collaborated with Gerdau S.A. to enhance production at the SJK Steel Plant.
Over the years, KSL has undertaken significant projects, including a 290,000 TPA integrated steel-making facility and a Rs 65 billion steel and power project in West Bengal. It acquired SJK Steel Plant in Tadipatri and integrated several subsidiaries into Kalyani Investment Company. Recent developments include commissioning rolling mills, sinter plants, and hot blast stoves, enhancing its production capacity and efficiency.
