Jocil Ltd, a subsidiary of Andhra Sugars, engages in the production of Stearic Acid, Fatty Acids, Refined Glycerine, Soap Noodles, Toilet Soap, and Industrial Oxygen, alongside generating power from biomass and wind energy. Established in 1978, the company markets its products through direct factory sales, depots, and agents throughout India. Located in Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh, Jocil also manufactures soap products on a job-work basis for prominent clients.
Additionally, Jocil operates a 6 MW biomass cogeneration power plant, selling surplus power to APSPDCL, and 6.30 MW wind energy generators in Tamil Nadu, selling to TANGEDCO. The company aims to boost its power generation with a new 5 MW biomass cogeneration plant. Jocil has embraced advanced technologies in its manufacturing processes, including a Hydrogenation Plant and Continuous Saponification & Soap Drying Plant. Recently, in June 2022, Jocil began trading surplus power on the Indian Energy Exchange, further diversifying its business model.
