JD Orgochem Limited, originally incorporated as Jaysynth Dyechem Private Limited in 1973, specializes in the manufacturing and trading of dyes and chemicals, with production plants in Turbhe and Patalganga, Maharashtra. The company markets its products under the brands Reactofix and Terenix and is recognized as India's largest exporter of reactive dyes, receiving accolades from CHEMEXCIL for export performance. To enhance production capacity from 4680 tpa to 6000 tpa, JD Orgochem is executing a balancing-cum-expansion scheme and has invested Rs. 410 million in additional facilities for solvent and acid dyes manufacture, alongside upgrading pollution control systems. Despite achieving 3603 MT of Dyes & Pigments production in 2001, down from 3916 MT previously, the company faced challenges from subdued end-user performance and overcapacity, leading to financial losses and a referral to the Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction (BIFR) due to eroded net worth.
