About Ishita Drugs & Industries Ltd Ishita Drugs & Industries Limited, founded in February 1992 by Jagdish Agarwal, specializes in the production of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), drug intermediates, fine chemicals, and excipients. With a facility designed to meet Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, the company emphasizes quality control and environmental safety. Initially rooted in the reactive dye industry, the Ishita Group expanded into the pharmaceutical sector in 1981, establishing a bulk drugs plant in Surendranagar, Gujarat, to reduce reliance on costly imports. Ishita Drugs has evolved into a vertically integrated enterprise with three manufacturing sites in Gujarat: two for APIs and drug intermediates in Ahmedabad and Surendranagar, and one for finished pharmaceutical formulations in Mehsana.
The company initiated bulk drug production in Sanand, Ahmedabad, in 1995, supported by an in-house R&D lab that enhanced norfloxacin production technology. In 2009, Ishita Drugs executed an expansion and debottlenecking project, upgrading equipment to boost production efficiency.
