Integra Engineering India Limited, originally Schlafhorst Engineering India Ltd, was established in 1981 and began operations in 1987. Specializing in engineering solutions for transport and power sectors, the company provides mechanical components with wiring solutions primarily to Indian Railways and various industrial segments, including telecommunications, power, and IT. With manufacturing units in Baroda and Halol, Gujarat, Integra has expertise in sheet metal fabrication, machining, and surface treatment, along with RDSO-approved electro-mechanical products.
The company has faced challenges, including competition from international textile machinery manufacturers and a period as a declared sick company, leading to the sale of its Vadodara plant in 2006. A significant development occurred in 2012 with the amalgamation of Integra India Group Company Limited, enhancing its production capabilities. Furthermore, a joint venture with Gorba AG, Switzerland, resolved in 2013, strengthened its strategic position. Mafatlal Industries holds an 11% equity stake, while the company maintains a collaborative relationship with Schlafhorst, Germany, part of the Saurer group.
