Bharat Highways InvIT, established on June 16, 2022, is an irrevocable trust registered under the Indian Trusts Act, 1882, and operates as an Indian Infrastructure Investment Trust. Sponsored by Lokesh Builders Private Limited, part of the GR Group, the trust focuses on acquiring, managing, and investing in infrastructure assets across India. GRIL, an associate of the sponsor, is a key entity in the GR Group, with a significant presence in road engineering, procurement, and construction, having executed over 100 projects since 2006.
The trust's initial asset portfolio includes seven road projects operating on a Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) in states like Punjab, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. These projects are managed through Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) under concession rights from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). Bharat Highways aims to raise Rs. 2,000 crore through an IPO, indicating its strategic move to expand its investment capabilities in India's infrastructure sector.
