Indus Finance Limited, initially established as Indus Finance Corporation Ltd in 1992, transitioned into a public limited company by 1994. Promoted by K V Balakrishnan and his associates, the company operates in the financial services sector providing a spectrum of services which include corporate credit, investment banking, merchant banking, and OTCEI operations. Indus Finance holds dealership status with OTCEI and expanded its capital base through a public issue in 1996 to bolster working capital.
With strategic plans to expand its clientele, particularly in Lease and Hire Purchase sectors, the company is also diversifying into renewable energy by setting up a 1.8 MW wind farm in Karnataka, supported by IREDA.
