About Indraprastha Gas Ltd Indraprastha Gas Ltd. (IGL), established in 1998, is a leading City Gas Distribution Company in India, operating across the National Capital Territory of Delhi and various regions within Delhi NCR, including Noida, Gurugram, and several others. Jointly ventured by GAIL (India) Ltd and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd, IGL took over the Delhi City Gas Distribution Project in 1999 and expanded its infrastructure significantly over the years. The company currently operates 792 CNG stations with a compression capacity of 97 lakh kg/day, serving over 12 lakh vehicles and having provided more than 3.10 lakh new PNG connections in FY 2022-23.
IGL has focused on expanding its network, increasing its pipeline infrastructure, and partnering with major automobile brands for CNG promotions. It has diversified into activities like installing solar power plants and developing LNG/LCNG stations. The company also adapts to market demands by launching innovative solutions, such as Mobile Refuelling Units. Despite challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic, IGL continues to meet the growing energy needs in its service areas through strategic expansion and collaborations.
