Indo Tech Transformers Limited, founded in 1992 in Tamil Nadu, specializes in manufacturing power, distribution, and special application transformers, including mobile sub-station units. The company operates plants in Kerala and Tamil Nadu and has a substantial customer base of over 3900, comprising state electricity boards, EPC contractors, and corporate clients. Indo Tech has exported its products to numerous countries, including the USA, UK, and Germany.
With a history of technical collaborations, such as with E I Dupont for dry type transformers and Allied Signals for amorphous metal core transformers, the company has expanded its capabilities over the years. It established a significant power transformer plant in Kancheepuram in 2008 and has been open to international partnerships for technical enhancement. Initially under the control of Prolec-GE, a joint venture of General Electric and Xignux, Indo Tech was acquired by Shirdi Sai Electricals Limited in 2020, which now holds a 73.64% majority stake.
