Indo Gulf Industries, originally incorporated as Indo Gulf Explosives in 1981, manufactures industrial explosives and accessories, catering primarily to open-cast coal mines. With production facilities in Jhansi, Korba, Singrauli, Talcher, and Ib Valley, the company offers products like slurry mixed explosives, detonator fuses, and cast boosters, developed in collaboration with Trans Ocean Gulf Oil, US.
In 1995, Indo Gulf Industries diversified by launching a sugar plant in Meizapur Gonda district, also producing power through bagasse co-generation. The plant began operations in 1996, and the company has since expanded its explosives supply network by adding bulk loading units in Mahakurla, Chanderpur district. New packaged explosive units are being developed in Bendrachuan, Madhya Pradesh to serve Coal India Ltd. An emulsion plant at Korba was commissioned in 1999-2000, enhancing the company's capabilities in supplying explosives and accessories across key mining areas.
