Located in Panipat, Haryana, the company initially set up a cotton yarn manufacturing unit with a capacity of 34.75 lakh kg annually. In January 1996, the company raised Rs 280 lakh through a public issue to support its project. However, manufacturing was halted following a significant fire in October 1997, leading the company to pivot towards trading various textile goods, including synthetic and cotton waste, cotton, and yarn. Despite the halted production, Indo Cotspin Ltd remains active in the textile trading sector, although the insurance claim from the fire is still unresolved.
