About Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Limited (IMFA), established in 1961, is India's leading producer of ferro chrome with a significant presence in Odisha, a region rich in natural resources. The company boasts an extensive production capacity with two manufacturing units in Therubali and Choudwar, achieving a total output of 284,000 TPA. IMFA's operations are supported by captive chrome ore mines with a capacity of 6.51 lakh TPA and a substantial captive power generation capacity of 204.55 MW, plus a 4.55 MW solar power facility. The majority of its ferro chrome production is exported to major Asian markets including Korea, China, Japan, and Taiwan.
IMFA has undergone several strategic mergers and acquisitions to bolster its position, such as merging with ICCL and UMSL's Ferro Alloys Division. It has diversified its energy profile with a dual fuel power plant and a solar power facility. The company also holds a 70% stake in an Indonesian coal mine, underscoring its commitment to securing raw material resources.
