About Indian Acrylics Ltd

Indian Acrylics Ltd, incorporated in 1986, is a prominent manufacturer of acrylic fiber, tow, and yarn, originally formed as a joint venture between R K Garg and the Punjab State Industrial Development Corporation. The company benefits from a technical collaboration with E I DuPont de Nemours & Company and has seen significant capacity expansions over the years, reaching an installed capacity of 25,000 MT by 1997-98. Known for innovations, it introduced 0.9 denier fiber in 2000-01, a first globally, and received consecutive export awards from the Indian government. To enhance operational efficiency and export capabilities, Indian Acrylics established a subsidiary in China and invested in infrastructure like high-pressure boilers and a biomass-based 8 MW power plant, also exporting surplus power. In 2013-14, it embarked on a project for spinning acrylic yarn, completing 6600 out of 9500 worsted spindles by 2014-15. With a focus on R&D and export growth, the company remains a leader in the Indian acrylic fiber industry.
