India Steel Works Ltd, originally Khanna & Roy Heavy Engineering, is a prominent player in the steel manufacturing and trading industry. Acquired by H L Gupta in 1990 and rebranded as Isibars Ltd, the company specializes in products like hot rolled bars, rods, and bright bars. These products cater to diverse sectors including automobile, textile, and marine industries due to their corrosion resistance. The company expanded its operations by acquiring Zenith's steel division in Khopoli, Maharashtra.
Significant expansions have seen production capacities rise, such as the increase of cold-finished bars to 10,000 tpa and rolling capacities to 100,000 MT per annum. The Khopoli facility, serving as a central hub, was further enhanced by relocating the Bright Bar Division there in 2012-13. In 2018, India Steel Works expanded its corporate structure by incorporating Indinox Steels Private Limited as a wholly-owned subsidiary, further positioning itself for growth and diversification in the steel industry.
