About IFB Agro Industries Ltd IFB Agro Industries, originally established as Nag Bottling and Packaging Company in 1982, became a public limited entity in 1986. Founded by mechanical engineer Bijon Nag, the company specializes in manufacturing industrial alcohol, bottling alcoholic beverages, and producing processed marine foods for both domestic and export markets. The industrial alcohol is primarily used in pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and homeopathic drug production. IFB Agro has a technical partnership with Starcosa, West Germany, and operates an Indian-made foreign liquor manufacturing unit in Maheshtala. The company has expanded over the years, taking over bottling facilities and completing a modernization program by 2000. It launched a grain-based distillery in 2008, and acquired Nurpur Gases' carbon dioxide business in 2014. In 2017, it established IFB Agro Marine in the UAE. Recent developments include the launch of fish and prawn feed products and a distillery capacity expansion to 170 KL per day in 2022, reflecting its growth and diversification strategies.
