Founded in 1935 by Sardari Lal Talwar, the company became a public entity in 1950 and transitioned into a 51% subsidiary of Huhtamaki Van Leer in 1999. Its prominent clientele includes major Indian FMCG companies like HLL, Colgate, and Nestle, along with international clients such as Unilever subsidiaries in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
