About Hindustan Oil Exploration Company Ltd Hindustan Oil Exploration Company Limited (HOEC) is engaged in the exploration, development, and production of hydrocarbons, including crude oil and natural gas, across onshore and offshore fields in India. Operating under Production Sharing Contracts with the Government of India, HOEC has interests in seven oil and gas fields, primarily in the Cambay, Cauvery, and Assam Arakan basins. The PY-3 field in the Cauvery Basin is a significant source of production for the company. HOEC also offers geological and geophysical services and oil field services.
HOEC owns a subsidiary, HOEC Bardahl India Ltd, which markets fuel and engine additives. The company has expanded its operations through strategic partnerships and acquisitions, including a 2008 acquisition by ENI UK Holdings plc. Recent developments include the completion of the Hollong Modular Gas Processing Plant and the execution of a Gas Transportation Agreement with ONGC, with gas sales to GSPC commencing in June 2022.
