Gujarat Lease Financing (GLFL), established in 1983, began as a subsidiary of the Gujarat Industrial Investment Corporation to support industrial development in Gujarat. The company went public in 1990 and diversified its services over the years, including merchant banking, housing finance, and retail finance. GLFL holds corporate membership in major stock exchanges such as the BSE and NSE through its subsidiary, GLFL Securities. Additionally, the company expanded into real estate with GLFL Realities and international markets via GLFL International.
In 2005, GLFL was sanctioned by the High Court of Gujarat to discharge its bank liabilities, leading to the settlement of external debts. A significant restructuring occurred in 2018-19 when it amalgamated its subsidiaries—GLFL Housing Finance Ltd., GLFL Securities Ltd., and GLFL International Ltd.—consolidating operations under the parent company. This strategic move aimed to streamline business processes and enhance financial services offerings.
