About Godawari Power & Ispat Ltd Godawari Power & Ispat Limited (GPIL), part of the Raipur-based Hira Group, is an integrated steel company with a comprehensive presence across the steel value chain, from iron ore mining to the production of iron ore pellets and steel products. Established in 1999, the company has expanded its operations to include the mining of captive iron ore and coal, manufacturing of sponge iron, steel billets, ferro alloys, and generation of captive power. GPIL focuses on long steel products, particularly mild steel wire, and operates significant production facilities in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
The company has a strong expansion history, including several phases of capacity enhancement and acquisitions, such as the full control of R R Ispat Ltd and stakes in Chhattisgarh Ispat Bhumi and Jagdamba Power and Alloys. Recent developments include increased capacities in sponge iron and steel billets, commissioning of solar power plants, and the initiation of a new greenfield steel plant. GPIL aims to enhance its production capabilities with a new 2 MTPA pellet plant and further expansion in the ferro alloys segment.
