With manufacturing facilities in Karnataka and Telangana, the company focuses on producing starch derivatives and developing customized applications for these products. Its technical collaboration with Lurgi Oil Gas Chemie, Germany, enhances its capability to produce sorbitol using advanced low-pressure hydrogenation technology. Sorbitol has diverse applications across industries such as pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, tobacco, paint, leather, paper, textiles, and food.
In a strategic move to optimize sorbitol production, Gayatri BioOrganics initiated a backward integration project, implementing a starch manufacturing unit with a capacity of 150 tpd. Despite past financial challenges leading to its referral to the Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction (BIFR), the company is actively working on achieving ISO 9002 certification for its starch division, aiming to bolster quality and operational standards.
