Garg Furnace Ltd, established in December 1973 and transitioned to a public entity in February 1976, focuses on manufacturing iron and steel products, including M.S. Round, Ingot, and Wire Rod. Situated in Ludhiana, Punjab, the company began operations in 1974 with a 1-tonne arc furnace. Overcoming initial technological challenges, it shifted to a 0.5-metric tonne induction furnace in 1981 and expanded its production capabilities in subsequent years.
Key milestones include the installation of a rolling mill in 1988 and multiple capacity enhancements between 1989 and 1994. By 1995, Garg Furnace Ltd executed a significant expansion and forward integration to boost ingot production from 48,000 tpa to 72,000 tpa and introduced a wire rod mill with a 30,000 tpa capacity. The company supported this growth through a capital market tap in April 1995. Further infrastructure advancements include the operationalization of a 66KV Sub Station Project in the 2011-12 period.
