GV Films Ltd (GVFL), established in 1989 by Mr. G Venkateswaran, is a prominent player in India's film industry, particularly in the Tamil film sector. The company specializes in film production and distribution, film exhibition, and new media technology. It significantly contributed to the South Indian film industry and was a pioneer in local CD manufacturing through a partnership with Sony, Japan. GVFL expanded its operations by acquiring and renovating multiple theater complexes, including a five-screen multiplex in Tanjore.
GV Films is diversifying into the television industry with plans to launch GV-TV, featuring a music channel, a sports channel, a movie channel, and BBC programs. The company also aims to penetrate the home video market, establish cutting-edge studios and cinemas, and explore further opportunities in communication and entertainment both in India and internationally. Notably, GVFL produced 12 successful Tamil films in 2003 and launched its Film Distribution Division, 'One Window,' in 2012-13.
