About Flex Foods Ltd Flex Foods Ltd, part of the Flex Group, was established in 1990 and specializes in cultivating and processing mushrooms, herbs, fruits, and vegetables in various forms including freeze-dried, air-dried, and Individually Quick Frozen (IQF). Primarily targeting the European and US markets, the company set up an Export Oriented Unit in Doon Valley in 1992 to produce button mushrooms and freeze-dried products, partially funded through a public issue. FFL utilizes 80% of its production for mushrooms and the remainder for other products, serving industries such as soups, sauces, baby foods, cereals, and ice creams. In collaboration with Agrisystems Engineering & Consultants, Netherlands, and M/s Danish Freeze Dry, Denmark, the company enhanced its cultivation and processing techniques. By 1999-2000, 40% of its capacity was dedicated to herb production, supported by technical collaboration and buy-back agreements, helping it meet production targets for freeze-dried herbs.
