About Essar Shipping Ltd Essar Shipping Ltd, part of the Essar Group, is an integrated logistics solution provider, specializing in fleet operations and chartering, sea transportation, and oilfield drilling services. Established on April 16, 2010, the company operates a diverse fleet of 26 vessels, including VLCCs, Capesizes, and Supramaxes, and offers both international and coastal voyages. Its Oilfields Services division provides contract drilling services globally, owning a semi-submersible rig and 12 land rigs. The Logistics business offers comprehensive services, from shipping to ports and intra-plant logistics, utilizing transshipment assets for lighterage and logistics support.
Following a Scheme of Arrangement in 2011-12, Essar Shipping restructured its operations, separating from Essar Shipping Ports & Logistics Ltd and issuing equity shares to eligible members. This restructuring positioned the company independently to enhance its shipping and logistics capabilities. On July 27, 2011, it expanded its fleet by acquiring a 152,065 DWT Cape See Dry Bulk Carrier, further bolstering its operational capacity.
