It transitioned to a public entity on September 15, 2023, and operates as a technology-driven company specializing in the development, production, processing, and sale of seeds for field crops and vegetables. The company caters to diverse agro-climatic conditions across India, offering high-quality seeds for crops such as cotton, wheat, maize, mustard, groundnut, cumin, jowar, and an array of vegetables including okra, onion, and green peas.
Under the leadership of its founder, Kamlesh Patel, Dhanlaxmi Crop Science has steadily expanded its operations, achieving major milestones in its journey. Initially starting as a rural agriculture shop in 1994, the company entered seed marketing in 2006 by co-marketing cotton seeds for Nuziveedu Seeds. It gained recognition as an ICRISAT member and an ISO-certified entity in 2015, complete with government-recognized R&D and biotech facilities. The company further strengthened its portfolio by becoming a direct sub-licensee of Monsanto for BG-II Cotton, later introducing hybrid seeds for crops like maize, bajra, and mustard.
The company leverages advanced R&D farms, biotech labs, and greenhouses to develop and produce hybrid seeds, ensuring better quality and higher productivity for farmers. Currently operating in 10 Indian states, Dhanlaxmi Crop Science boasts a robust team of scientists and marketing professionals dedicated to supporting the agricultural community.
