DCM Financial Services (DFSL), incorporated in 1991 by the DCM Group, began its auto-finance operations in 1994. As a SEBI-registered Category-I Merchant Banker, DFSL offered services including equipment leasing, hire-purchase, inter-corporate deposits, and bill discounting. To bolster its resources and expand its operations, DFSL launched an equity issue in 1994-95, raising its post-issue equity to Rs 12.94 crore and net worth to Rs 23.74 crore. Future plans involved financing DCM-Daewoo cars and enhancing merchant banking and financial advisory services, alongside portfolio management for individual investors.
In 1995-96, DFSL's credit rating was upgraded to AA, reflecting high safety, and it expanded its branch network for improved market access. By 2000-2001, DFSL ventured into IT-related services, generating income from technical support and ERP implementation. Currently, the company is restructuring its operations and financials with plans to resume business activities post-restructuring.
