About Dai-ichi Karkaria Ltd Dai-Ichi Karkaria Limited (DIK), established in 1960, specializes in manufacturing specialty chemicals from its facilities in Dahej, Gujarat, and Kurkumbh, Maharashtra. The company has a strategic partnership with Matsumoto for producing spin finishes, enhancing textile filaments with lubrication and anti-static properties. DIK is expanding its production capacity significantly from 750 tons per annum (tpa) to 3000 tpa. The company has also ventured into producing bulk drugs such as omeprazole, menadione, and calcium pentothenate, with the latter two being novel to the Indian market.
DIK has successfully completed a project to expand high molecular weight flocculants production and established a joint venture for effluent treatment solutions. The company has introduced multiple new chemical products targeting various therapeutic areas and has transferred its pharmaceuticals business to Inogent Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. DIK also formed a joint venture with CTI Chemicals Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd., marking a focus on expanding its chemical treatment capabilities.
