Originally engaged in manufacturing a range of photographic products with Fuji Photo Films, Japan's collaboration, the company underwent significant transformations over the years.
The company capitalized on industrial policy liberalization in 1991 to expand its product line, including Fuji Film and Fuji Color brands, and later diversified into digital cameras and related products. By 2004, the photographic business was transferred to its subsidiary, Consolidated Photo Products Limited. Subsequent years saw the company restructuring, with several subsidiaries being incorporated or ceased, and eventually, its photographic division was demerged into Jindal Poly Films Limited in 2015-16, marking its transition towards focusing primarily on investment holdings.
