About Cochin Minerals & Rutile Ltd Cochin Minerals and Rutile (CMRL), established in the late 1980s, is engaged in the production of synthetic rutile, ferric chloride, off-grade titanium dioxide, and ferrous chloride. Its manufacturing facility is located in Aluva, Kerala, and has been operational since 1993. CMRL exports its products primarily to Japan and the Middle East. Over the years, the company has expanded its production capacities, reaching 18,000 MT for synthetic rutile by 1998-99, with further expansions in subsequent years. CMRL has secured a mining lease in the Neendakar-Kayamkulam area, ensuring a steady supply of ilmenite, its primary raw material. The company holds an ISO 9002 certification for its manufacturing standards and has formed a joint venture with Indian Rare Earths Limited and Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation to promote Kerala Rare Earths and Minerals Limited, aimed at mining and mineral separation from beach sand. This strategic collaboration positions CMRL favorably in the mineral processing industry.
