About Coastal Roadways Ltd Coastal Roadways Limited (CRL), based in Kolkata and founded in 1968, specializes in the transportation of heavy and oversized cargo. With a carrying capacity exceeding 4,000 tons, CRL operates a substantial fleet of heavy vehicles, trailers, and loaders. It has an extensive network comprising six zonal offices and 69 branches across major business centers in India. The company serves various industries, including petroleum, heavy engineering, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals, and has a reputation for efficiency and professionalism.
CRL expanded into container traffic following its initial public offering in 1994, acquiring 50 trailers for this purpose. By 1999-2000, the company had diversified into containerized cargo movement and initiated logistics services for key clients. In 2007-08, CRL further strengthened its fleet with the addition of 64 heavy commercial containerized vehicles. Its subsidiary, Coastal Overseas, facilitates export and international trade, enhancing CRL's reach beyond domestic markets.
