About CMI Ltd CMI Limited, established in 1967, specializes in manufacturing a wide range of wires and cables, including railway signaling, control and instrumentation, jelly-filled telephone, and power cables. Notable milestones in the company's expansion include enhancing its production capabilities in the 1990s and launching a variety of specialty cables, such as Category-5 Datacom Cables and Optical Fibre Cables. The company also achieved ISO 9002 certification for its optical fibre and jelly-filled telecommunication cables divisions in the late 1990s.
In recent years, CMI has further expanded its product offerings, notably increasing its production capacity by 25% in 2015 and enhancing its portfolio with advanced signal cables and cables for specialized applications. The acquisition and subsequent amalgamation of CMI Energy broadened its product line to include EHV, MV, HV cables, and conductors. Despite these expansions, by 2019, CMI Energy India and CMI Agro Limited ceased to be subsidiaries, marking a strategic shift in the company's structure.
