It was renamed Caliber Mining and Logistics Private Limited on July 29, 2024 and subsequently converted into a public company as Caliber Mining and Logistics Limited on September 10, 2024.
The company is principally engaged in overburden (OB) removal and mineral extraction, including coal and iron ore mining, along with logistics operations such as loading and unloading services. It positions itself as an end-to-end coal mining and logistics provider, covering coal extraction, overburden removal, coal loading/unloading, road transportation, and coordination of rail transportation.
Its largest customers are mine-owning subsidiaries of Coal India Limited (CIL), specifically Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) and Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL). The company’s mining and OB removal operations are located in Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh.
Caliber has been in the logistics business since 2016, offering a “one-stop” logistics solution focused on coal loading, unloading, and road transportation, and expanded to provide logistics solutions for iron ore customers in 2023. Where deliveries are by rail, it assists with loading coal onto rail rakes and coordinating services to meet customer delivery schedules. The company is planning an IPO comprising a fresh issue of Rs 500 crore and an offer for sale of Rs 100 crore, for a total offer size of Rs 600 crore.
