About Burnpur Cement Ltd Burnpur Cement Limited, initially incorporated as Ashoka Concrete and Allied Industries Private Limited in 1986, operates a major cement plant in eastern India. Transitioning to its current name in 2001, the company began producing Portland Slag Cement in 1991 and has grown to a capacity of 1,000 tonnes per day (TPD) at its Asansol plant. Recognized for its quality and customer satisfaction, Burnpur Cement has earned ISO-9001:2000 certification. The company is a key player in West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Bihar, aiming to expand into Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, and Delhi. Facing raw material constraints, Burnpur Cement is establishing an 800 TPD clinkerisation and cement grinding unit in Jharkhand, with plans to expand to 1,600 TPD. This project is supported by the Jharkhand government, and the company has secured land and awaits limestone mining rights. An investment of Rs 197 Crores aims to double its capacity to 2,000 TPD by 2014, with production commencing in phases by 2015.
