Bombay Oxygen Investments Ltd

About Bombay Oxygen Investments Ltd

Bombay Oxygen Investment Limited, originally established as Bombay Oxygen Corporation in 1960, transitioned from manufacturing industrial gases to functioning as a Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) registered with the Reserve Bank of India. The company ceased its industrial gas production, including oxygen and nitrogen, on August 1, 2019. Currently, its revenue is primarily derived from substantial investments in shares, mutual funds, and other financial securities. Despite no longer producing industrial gases, the company had notable past collaborations, including with General Electrodes and Equipments, Germany, and Messer AGS Gmbh for engineering services. Additionally, it had developed an indigenous cryogenic liquid oxygen pump and commissioned significant facilities like the Tonnage Oxygen Plant and a 40 TPD Oxygen Liquiefier Plant at Kalwe. While it once had subsidiaries in pharmaceuticals, like Savita Pharmaceuticals, its divestment in 1996 led to the cessation of Raptakos Brett & Co. and its subsidiaries as part of its group.
