Biofil Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Limited (BCPL), established in 1985, is engaged in the manufacturing and trading of pharmaceutical products. Originally a private entity, it became a public limited company in 1992. BCPL operates through its Pharmaceutical and Chemicals Divisions and has expanded its business to include the production of plastic packaging for pharmaceuticals. The company manufactures various pharmaceutical formulations such as injections, capsules, eye-drops, and dry syrups at its Indore facility.
In a strategic move, BCPL partnered with HLL Lifecare Limited, a government enterprise, to manufacture Iron and Folic Acid Tablets among other products, utilizing its new unit at Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh. This facility, developed with a project cost of Rs 39.75 crore, supports the company's expansion and diversification efforts. BCPL's growth initiatives also included a rights-cum-public issue in 1996 to finance its ventures into bulk drugs and pharmaceutical formulations. The company continues to leverage its manufacturing capabilities to flourish in the pharmaceutical sector.
