About Bengal Tea & Fabrics Ltd Bengal Tea & Fabrics Ltd (BTFL), promoted by B D Kanoria, was established in 1983, focusing on the manufacture and sale of Black Tea, textiles, and real estate. Initially, the company operated three tea estates in Assam, but now it primarily relies on Ananda Tea Estate, marketing its products under the "Classic Gold" and "Pallorbund" brands. The textile division, originating from the acquisition of Asarwa Mills, has expanded its capacity significantly over the years. It currently operates with 98 looms and 50,184 spindles, with plans for further expansion and modernization to meet growing export demands.
In recent years, BTFL has focused on modernizing its textile operations. This includes installing advanced machinery such as auto-doffing systems, quality control equipment, and a jet dyeing machine. As of 2018, BTFL is a subsidiary of Rydak Enterprises & Investment Limited, which holds a 56.19% stake in the company, following a series of amalgamations among promoter group companies.
