About B. D. Industries (Pune) Ltd **B. D. Industries (Pune) Limited (BDI) Overview** B. D. Industries (Pune) Limited is a manufacturing and trading company specializing in plastic products for automotive and industrial applications. Originally incorporated as a private entity in 2010, it transitioned to a public limited company in December 2024. However, its roots can be traced back to 1984, when it began operations in traction battery repairs and manufacturing. Over the years, the company diversified into producing rotomolded plastic components, acquiring Toyo Container in 2010 to bolster its capabilities. BDI’s product portfolio caters to both the automotive and non-automotive sectors. In the automotive space, its offerings include plastic fuel tanks, urea tanks, fenders, hydraulic tanks, and mudguards for off-road vehicles. Beyond this, its rotomolded plastic products serve industries such as road safety, water management, renewable energy, healthcare, and material handling. The company emphasizes innovation, having consistently evolved through R&D initiatives like its early adoption of rotomolding technology for plastic fuel tanks in the late 1990s. The company operates three well-established manufacturing facilities in Pune (Maharashtra), Dewas (Madhya Pradesh), and Hoshiarpur (Punjab), which have been operational for over 10 years, except for the Hoshiarpur plant established two years ago. A fourth facility is under construction in Zaheerabad, Telangana, slated to commence operations in 2025. BDI also expanded its footprint by acquiring B.D. Industries (India) Private Limited as a wholly-owned subsidiary in 2024, signifying aggressive growth plans. As part of its growth strategy, BDI is planning an initial public offering (IPO) of 4.2 million equity shares at Rs. 10 each, seeking funds to support expansion and capitalize on its position as an industry leader in rotomolded plastic solutions.
