APT Packaging Limited, formerly Anil Chemicals & Industries Ltd, was established in 1980 and has evolved from a chemical manufacturer to a diversified packaging solutions provider. The company specializes in prilled ammonium nitrate, emulsified bulk explosives, and waterproofing compounds, with manufacturing plants located across Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh. Known for its innovation, APT was the first in India to introduce advanced bulk-loading systems in mining and to produce multi-layer co-extruded tubes for healthcare packaging.
Despite a challenging financial history, leading to its referral to the Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction (BIFR) in 1999, APT Packaging underwent significant restructuring. This included the demerger of its chemical divisions to Machhar Infrastructure Limited in 2008 and retaining its packaging divisions. The company also expanded its production capacity with the opening of the Laksar Plant in 2010. APT Packaging continues to focus on its core packaging operations, leveraging technical collaborations and innovation.
